Utah Liquor Law

Heads up! Utah (no surprise) has strict driving under the influence (DUI) laws. In March 2017, Utah became the first state to enact legislation lowering the legal alcohol limit for driving. The new law, which took effect on December 30, 2018, lowers the blood alcohol concentration (BAC) from 0.08 percent to 0.05 percent. This makes Utah a very strict state. People leaving late-night weekend events are probably being watched. In Utah, a motorist can now receive a DUI citation or be arrested without driving, that is, without being in physical control of a moving car. The gist of the law is to keep roads safe from even the potential danger an intoxicated driver creates when getting behind the wheel, whether they are driving or not. Please be aware of this.
